Physical Description
Appearance
Tingle is a compact, powerfully built young catfolk with vivid orange fur, bright green eyes, and the kind of developing musculature that makes adults do a double take when they learn his age. He has been following his father Xaneborr's training program with characteristic single-mindedness, and it shows. For nine years old he is built like a small freight cart, broad across the shoulders and dense through the arms in a way that his blacksmith work has only added to. He carries himself with a steadiness that does not read as arrogance so much as certainty. He knows exactly what he is working toward, and he is working toward it every day.
Unique Characteristics
His hands are calloused from both smithwork and daily sword training. He has committed fully to two-handed swords as his weapon of choice, and his grip strength and core control are already remarkable for his age. He is currently the strongest person in his age bracket in all of Goodberry, a distinction that covers anyone from 9 to 19, and he is aware of it without being loud about it. When he moves with a blade it is not elegant yet, but it is purposeful, which at nine is worth considerably more.

Background & History
Early Life and Tragedy
Born to fruit vendors in Oraeus, Tingle's early childhood was shattered when the Whitecoats unjustly killed his birth parents after false accusations from a competing vendor. During his escape, he lost his front tooth and spent three terrifying days hiding and foraging before Hotaru found him. Arties immediately fell in love with the orphaned catfolk child and adopted him, giving him the family and stability he desperately needed.
The Zombie Slayer Era
As a young child, Tingle became obsessed with being a dragon slayer, then later a zombie slayer after actually defeating an undead creature that threatened other children. His pronounced lisp and fierce determination made him a beloved figure in the household, though his homemade bark armor and wooden sword were more endearing than effective. This period taught him that protecting others was worth any personal risk, a lesson that would define his character for years to come.
The Tournament That Changed Everything
During a children's tournament, Tingle advanced to the semi-finals where fate pitted him against his beloved sister Eden. In what should have been a playful sibling rivalry, Tingle accidentally delivered a vicious blow that broke Eden's jaw and shattered her teeth when she moved unexpectedly. The sight of his sister's bloodied face and his role in causing her pain broke something inside him. He immediately surrendered his position and swore never again to raise his hand against a female family member, even in play or competition.
Death and Resurrection
While traveling with Arties to Verdant Hold, they were captured by assassins working for Taxin, leader of the Black Dragon Army. For seven days, both mother and son endured brutal torture, neither breaking under the abuse. When Taxin finally slit Tingle's throat to force Arties to cooperate, the boy died watching his mother's anguish. He awoke fully healed amid the crater where his sister Sana had sacrificed herself to kill their captors and resurrect her family. Witnessing Sana's ultimate act of love and power profoundly impacted his understanding of what true strength and sacrifice meant.
The Forge of Character
Now spending his time between school, intensive physical training with Madrov and Attritti, and learning blacksmithing at Thunderbuddies under Karthos's guidance, Tingle has found his path. The forge has become his sanctuary, where the discipline of creating weapons and tools mirrors his own process of being shaped by experience. Karthos treats him as a true partner, paying him fairly and trusting him with real responsibility, helping him grow into the mature young warrior he is becoming.
The Youngest EVER
Late in Yearend of 1303, Tingle and his brothers and sisters got an opportunity to explore a non-dangerous Mystic Realm. Things did eventually turn violent, but all of the children survived and even flourished. Coming out as the strongest performers there were Tingle and his sister, Sana. They ran around the mystic realm slaying animals and beasts until the "boss" of the zone showed up and challenged them. They fought with such tenacity and vigor that even the Heavens were impressed and granted each of them a title for being the youngest to be assigned a role by the Heavens. Tingle now carries the badge of being the youngest person in Xeresian history to gain such a role/title... a fact he is infinitely proud of!
Defending the Homestead
In the early morning hours of Frostmoon 1, 1304 the full force of the Chromatic Council fell upon the city of Verdant Hold. Thousands died, but the Heaven's Chosen held the city and defeated the council once and for all. When Rageheart, the fierce red dragon of legend, strafed the city multiple times with his breath weapon, a hole was torn in the bubble that surrounded and protected Goodberry and thousdands of Red Draconians rushed in, aimed at the Geodegazer Estate. While most of the attackers were slain by other defenders, a trio of bloodied assailants made their way into the Goodberry Estate. Tingle and his brother, Attritti, though both children, stood their ground next to Salia and defended their home. They fought like vicious, well-trained badgers... the draconians expected only a fleshy meal, not tiny warriors, and paid the final price for their assumption. Tingle took several ghastly wounds that were later healed by his mother, Arties, but he had done it ... his family survived!
The Children of the Cages
Not long after the wars surrounding Verdant Hold, Tingle encountered a group of captives being sold through a slaver’s caravan. Among them were seventeen children and several adults, many clearly exhausted, frightened, and on the verge of losing hope. Tingle insisted they be purchased and freed rather than simply left to their fate. The transaction was completed openly, their freedom secured through a lawful arrangement that required six months of service to repay the cost of their release. For Tingle, the agreement was merely a formality. In his mind they were already free the moment the cages opened. In the days that followed he walked among them often, meeting each of the children whose lives had changed that day, from the stubborn boy Moss with bandaged fists to the quiet musician Selka who dared to play again. Seeing their fear slowly turn into cautious hope left a lasting mark on him. To Tingle, strength was not measured by the enemies he defeated, but by the lives he refused to abandon. No child, he decided, should ever again have to face the world alone behind iron bars.
The First World Games
Tingle entered the World Games with five medals in his sights and left with six. Bronze in Boys Triple Jump and Boys Discus, which he accepted without complaint and immediately set aside. Gold in Boys Javelin Throw and Gold in Boys Weightlifting, which he is considerably more pleased about. A shared bronze in the chariot fiasco with Attritti and Madrov, which does not count against his pride because nobody reasonable could count it against anyone's pride. Then came the Grand Melee.
Before the final event, the prince of Torheim issued a personal challenge. He was sixteen years old, large for his age, and had been watching Tingle all week. The fight was close. It was ugly in stretches. The Torheim boy was good and strong and had every physical advantage that seven extra years of growth could offer. What he did not have was Tingle's rage, which arrived at exactly the right moment, shrugging off a blow that should have ended it and turning the tide in a single exchange. People are still talking about it. Tingle appreciates that, and then goes back to the Pocket Dungeon, because medals are nice but the dungeon is where he actually gets better. He wants to be the best. Not in Goodberry. Not in his age range. The best. He is nine years old and he means it completely.

Goals
Becoming the Best
Tingle does not have a complicated relationship with ambition. He wants to be the best fighter in Xeres. Not eventually, not someday in the abstract: that is the destination and the Pocket Dungeon is the road. He treats every run through it as real, because as far as he is concerned it is. The two-handed sword is his weapon and he is learning its full range, not just how to swing hard but how to control weight, manage range, and recover from overextension. Karthos's forge is part of the same education. Knowing how a blade is made changes how you use one. He is convinced of this and he is probably right.
Protecting His Family Without Harm
After accidentally injuring Eden in the tournament, Tingle struggles with how to protect his female family members without risking harm to them through his own actions. He seeks to become so skilled and controlled that he can defend them from external threats while never again being the source of their pain. This involves not only physical training but emotional growth, learning to channel his protective instincts in ways that don't conflict with his vow never to raise his hand against his sisters, even accidentally.
Living Up to Sana's Example
Sana sacrificed herself to bring him back. That is not something Tingle carries lightly or talks about often. What he does instead is train. Every session in the Pocket Dungeon, every hour at the forge, every morning run with Madrov is in some part an answer to what she did. He does not want to match her power. He wants to be worthy of what it cost her. That is a different goal and a harder one, and he knows it, and he does not plan to stop working toward it.

⚔️ Combat Warning
Tingle is nine years old and currently the strongest individual in his age bracket across all of Goodberry, a range that extends to nineteen. He has already died in combat, been resurrected, defended his home against draconian soldiers, and defeated a sixteen-year-old prince from Torheim in front of a crowd at the World Games. He trains daily in the Pocket Dungeon, works a blacksmith's forge, and follows a physical conditioning program modeled on his father Xaneborr. Those who approach him as a child are making an assessment they are unlikely to get the chance to revise.
