Elodie is a striking young girl whose drow heritage is clearly the dominant side of her mixed blood. Her skin is a soft, even lavender, and her hair is long, white, and loosely wavy, worn down or half-up depending on her mood, though always neat enough for a performance at short notice. Her pointed ears are expressive and prominent. She carries herself with the particular confidence of a child who has been applauded often enough to know she deserves it, but whose focus in the moment of music is so complete that she seems to forget the audience entirely. She favours deep, rich colours, blues and purples especially, and has strong opinions about what she wears.

Fine silver-white freckle markings dust her cheeks, similar to her half-sister Celeste's, though Elodie's are slightly more scattered. Her hearing is supernaturally sharp; she can detect tonal irregularities and frequencies that fall entirely outside the normal range of perception, and she has been known to stop mid-sentence to identify a sound no one else in the room has registered. When she plays, her expression becomes serene and inward, as though the music takes her somewhere else entirely. She plays six instruments with genuine proficiency: lute, piano, flute, hand drum, dulcimer, and singing bowl... and her voice, even at five, carries the control and resonance of a trained adult performer.

Elodie entered the world already listening. By six months old she was showing sensitivity to tonal irregularities and sounds outside the normal range of perception, and by her first year she was singing in tune with a control that stopped adults mid-conversation. PUQ was among the first to recognise something extraordinary was happening and has visited her regularly since those early days, sitting with her for hours and sharing stories of his travels, telling her she is fortunate to have such a family — which she already knew, but enjoys hearing.

With Salia as both mother and primary teacher, Elodie's musical education has been anything but typical. By five she plays six instruments with real proficiency and possesses a theoretical understanding of music that would embarrass many adult amateurs. She does not merely mimic or repeat, she listens, internalises, and builds. Salia has noted more than once that teaching Elodie feels less like instruction and more like showing someone a door they were already reaching for. Their sessions together have become one of the most treasured parts of both their days.

Elodie performed her first formal recital before a genuine audience before she turned five, dressed in blue, seated at a piano that was slightly too large for her, and completely unintimidated. She played from memory, eyes closed for most of it, and received a standing ovation she accepted with the composure of someone who had expected nothing less. The performance circulated in conversation across Goodberry for weeks afterward. She has since performed several times, and the response has only grown. She is aware of her reputation and finds it entirely appropriate.

The Geodegazer estate is rarely quiet, which suits Elodie perfectly. She has a large and varied audience on demand, siblings who range from genuinely musically appreciative to reliably enthusiastic regardless of quality, and three parents who each love her in distinct and complementary ways. She is particularly close to Salia, whose expertise she respects completely, and Eden, who has never once told her to keep it down. The household's size and warmth give her both the security to develop and the audience to perform for, as far as she is concerned, the arrangement is ideal.

Elodie is not content to be good at the instruments she knows. She wants to understand all of them, what each one does that the others cannot, where they overlap, and how they speak to each other. She also knows her voice is exceptional and intends to treat it accordingly, developing its range and power with the same seriousness she applies to everything else. She does not think of this as ambition so much as an obvious next step.

Elodie is five years old and knows more about music than most adults she meets. She is aware of the gap between how she is sometimes perceived and what she is actually capable of, and she finds it mildly irritating. Her goal, quietly and consistently, is to make that gap impossible to ignore, to perform at a level where her age becomes an afterthought rather than the first thing anyone mentions. She is patient about this. She knows she will get there.

Elodie's hearing perceives a layer of the world that most people simply cannot access, and she has learned to accept that explaining it rarely helps. What she wants is to find others... other musicians, perhaps, or those with their own supernatural sensitivities, who understand intuitively what she means when she says a room sounds wrong, or that a piece of music has something missing that no one else can identify. She is not lonely. But she would like, eventually, to be truly understood.
