Physical Description
Appearance
Loola is a vibrant Grippli with bright emerald green skin marked by natural luminescent yellow patterns that pulse gently like firefly wings. Her large, expressive eyes shimmer with golden flecks that seem to dance when she's excited, and her athletic build speaks to a life spent leaping through forest canopies. She moves with the quick, graceful energy of someone always ready to spring into action, and her animated expressions and gestures make her emotions immediately readable to anyone nearby.
Unique Characteristics
Her skin patterns actually glow softly in darkness, a rare trait even among Grippli that marks her deep connection to bioluminescent magic. Tiny fireflies often perch on her shoulders, hands, and the crown of her head as if drawn by some natural magnetism. She carries a beautifully carved firefly lantern that houses living insects rather than flames, and the gentle, pulsing light seems to respond to her emotions. Her voice has a musical quality with subtle croaking undertones that become more pronounced when she's excited.

Background & History
Early Life in the Geldergreen
Born into the Brightpond tribe deep within the mystical Geldergreen forest, Loola came into the world on a night when the fireflies danced so thickly the entire grove pulsed with golden light. The Brightpond Grippli had long dwelled around a series of naturally bioluminescent pools, and Loola's birth during such a spectacular firefly gathering was seen as an auspicious sign. From her earliest days, she displayed an unusual connection to the forest's living lights, with fireflies clustering around her and her own skin developing luminescent patterns that mirrored their gentle pulsing.
The Prophetic Dreams
As she entered her teenage years, Loola began experiencing vivid dreams that felt more real than waking life. In these visions, she walked alongside a gentle wyvaran figure through various landscapes, watching as he tended wounded creatures, helped lost travelers, and brought light to dark places through pure compassion and selfless action. The dreams came frequently, each one adding details to her understanding of this mysterious figure who seemed to embody everything she believed about goodness and redemption. The most powerful vision occurred during her sixteenth birthday, coinciding with the tribe's annual Festival of Lights. As hundreds of fireflies gathered in a spectacular display above the glowing pools, Loola fell into a trance that lasted from dusk until dawn. In this extended dream, she received what she believed to be direct communication from the forest spirits themselves, telling her that the wyvaran in her visions was real, that his name was Hotaru, and that she had been chosen to serve as his herald in the wild places of the world.
Forming the Lantern Walkers
Armed with absolute conviction about her divine calling, Loola began seeking out others who had experienced similar dreams or felt called to something greater than their quiet forest life. She discovered that several young Grippli from neighboring tribes had been having their own visions of lights in darkness, hope in despair, and the power of small folk to make significant differences. These kindred spirits became the founding members of the Lantern Walkers, united by their shared faith in the transformative power of selfless action. The group developed their unique practices gradually, combining Loola's prophetic visions with traditional Grippli customs and the natural magic of the Geldergreen. They learned to craft special lanterns that housed living fireflies as partners rather than mere tools, developed intricate dances that mimicked firefly flight patterns, and created a repertoire of songs and stories designed to inspire hope in even the most demoralized listeners.
The Great Pilgrimage
When rumors finally reached the Geldergreen of a wyvaran druid who matched Loola's visions... someone who had faced great trials but continued to show remarkable kindness and selflessness... the young prophet knew her moment had arrived. Despite leaving behind the comfort and safety of her forest home, she convinced her fellow Lantern Walkers to join her on a pilgrimage to find this Hotaru and offer their services as his dedicated heralds. The journey was longer and more dangerous than any of them had anticipated, but Loola's unwavering faith kept the group together through hardships that might have broken a less devoted band. When they finally encountered Hotaru and witnessed his genuine compassion and dedication firsthand, Loola felt her visions validated in the most profound way possible. Here was living proof that her dreams had been true, that the forest spirits had indeed chosen her for this sacred purpose.
Unexpected Developments
In Stormhowl of 1303, Loola had an accidental run-in with Bramble as the two were swimming in the same lake at the same early morning hour. They discovered they had a lot in common and soon found themselves spending more and more time together. Casual conversation turned to friendship. Friendship turned to attraction. Two months later, Loola discovered she was pregnant with Bramble's child, though she didnt know how to tell him. How would Hotaru feel about this? What would the Lantern Walkers think?
Answered
On Goldenleaf 7 of 1304, Loola got her answer when her daughter was born. Zilibee was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen in her life. What anyone said didn't matter anymore, just this bundle of sunlight and life. Thankfully, her boyfriend and father of the child, was equally enamored with the girl. When Bramble proposed to Loola, she hesitated and eventually refused... she wasn't sure if she was ready to settle down and declare that Bramble and Goodberry were the right answers. They probably were, but Loola learned a long time about about jumping into a decision so quickly without deep thought. Despite this, Loola, Bramble and Zilibee spend nearly every afternoon together!
Goals
Sacred Mission
Loola believes with absolute certainty that the forest spirits chose her to serve as Hotaru's herald, spreading his message of selflessness and restoration throughout the wild places of Xeres. She sees every successful rescue, every inspired listener, and every moment of joy brought to dark places as sacred work that validates her prophetic calling. Her ultimate goal is to ensure that Hotaru's teachings reach every corner of the natural world.
Network of Light
Beyond immediate evangelism, Loola dreams of establishing Lantern Walker circles in every major forest and wild region, creating a permanent network of light-bearers who can support each other and coordinate their efforts. She envisions a future where no traveler need fear the darkness, no lost soul lack for guidance, and no act of kindness go unwitnessed or unremembered.
Personal Recognition
Though she would never admit it openly, Loola harbors a deep hope that Hotaru will eventually recognize her not merely as another devoted follower, but as someone who truly understands his message and has dedicated her life to advancing it with wisdom and effectiveness. She dreams of the day when he might personally acknowledge the work she and her Lantern Walkers have accomplished, or even seek her counsel on matters of inspiring and guiding others.
