Learning to Survive and Excel
Wuffle's story began in the shadowed alleyways of Oraeus, where she and her brother Puff learned the harsh lessons of survival from a young age. One year younger than her naturally talented sibling, Wuffle always felt she had something to prove, pushing herself to climb higher, move faster, and steal more audaciously than her brother whose abilities seemed to come effortlessly. While Puff's skills appeared instinctive, Wuffle's abilities were forged through relentless determination and countless hours of practice, creating a complementary partnership where Puff's natural grace paired with her meticulous planning made them a formidable team on the dangerous streets of the tropical city.
The Call to Anice and Revolutionary Awakening
Though they survived together for years in Oraeus, Wuffle increasingly felt like an outsider among humans, finding herself drawn to visiting catfolk merchants from Anice who spoke of their vertically integrated city. When one perceptive merchant shared stories of Anice as a place where catfolk could thrive but also mentioned the strict class divisions and struggles under noble rule, seeds were planted that would later bloom into revolutionary fervor. Without explanation or farewell, she slipped away while Puff slept, leaving only a crudely drawn map indicating her destination, driven by a desperate need for something more than mere survival and a homeland where she might truly belong.
Embracing the Path of Revolution
Arriving in Anice proved both everything she had imagined and nothing like she expected, with the city's vertical splendor feeling instantly like home while the stark divide between aristocratic upper levels and struggling lower districts ignited her sense of injustice. Within days, she had connected with the Nightwhiskers, a radical faction that believed complete overthrow of existing power structures was the only path to equality. Under their charismatic leader Shen, who claimed royal lineage from before the current dynasty, Wuffle's anger was shaped into revolutionary zeal, her outsider perspective and exceptional skills making her valuable while her obvious resentment made her malleable to their increasingly extreme agenda.
The Brother Who Changed Everything
For almost two years, Wuffle worked her way deeper into revolutionary operations, progressing from intelligence gathering to planning complex infiltrations of the upper districts, including successfully reaching the royal palace itself. However, when discussions turned from political change to assassination, particularly targeting the entire royal family including children, she found herself committed to a path she hadn't fully examined. It was at this crucial juncture that Puff unexpectedly reappeared, having tracked his sister across continents, and spent nine months working to reconnect with her while gradually introducing alternative perspectives about building rather than destroying, ultimately providing the doubt she needed to step back from the violent extremism she had been drawn toward.
A Dangerous Escape and New Beginning
Extracting herself from the Nightwhiskers proved nearly as dangerous as any palace infiltration, as her hesitation was viewed as betrayal by Shen and the other radical members. Only a carefully orchestrated deception that made it appear she had been captured by palace guards allowed her and Puff to escape Anice with their lives, though they traveled directly to Goodberry looking over their shoulders the entire journey, expecting Nightwhisker agents to emerge from every shadow. Now living together in Goodberry, Wuffle finds herself adrift in unfamiliar emotional territory, her identity no longer defined by opposition and destruction but by the possibility of building something meaningful alongside her brother.
Adapting to Peace and Recent Complications
For the most part, Wuffle has been successfully adapting to life in Goodberry, redirecting her exceptional skills toward protection and community building rather than revolution and destruction. However, her revolutionary past and saboteur training recently created unexpected complications during a mission with Hotaru, where mixed signals and poor communication led her to believe he wanted her to blow up the top floor of a building they were infiltrating. Her explosive expertise, which Hotaru had been unaware of, resulted in far more destruction than intended, creating tension between them and reminding everyone that her dangerous skills remain a double-edged asset. This incident has left her questioning whether she can truly leave her destructive past behind and highlighted the ongoing challenge of integrating former revolutionaries into peaceful communities.
Searching for Purpose Beyond Revolution
The conflict within Wuffle remains far from resolved, as years of revolutionary conviction don't dissolve overnight, and she still finds herself instinctively analyzing vulnerabilities in Goodberry's systems and structures. She watches Arties with particular intensity, trying to understand how this unusual woman has created a community that functions without the power dynamics she had come to see as inevitable, while observing the positive change in her brother that makes her wonder what she might become if she fully embraced this new beginning. Though still poised for flight should this community prove as flawed as others, a part of her increasingly hopes it won't be necessary, that perhaps here, with her brother at her side, she might find a cause worth building rather than one focused on tearing down the established order.
A New Life.
When a host of children were rescued from a group of slavers in Kristofferson, they were brought to Goodberry for first aid. On this trip, Wuffle noticed a young catfolk girl with tell-tale signs of abuse among them. Remembering the challenges she had as a young catfolk girl of the same age, she felt her heart pull her to act drastically. She took the young child as her own, going through the adoption process and named her Alli, because she didn't have a name of her own yet. Alli now lives with Wuffle and Puff.
