Varon is a well-built man with short, black hair. His piercing blue eyes seem to constantly scan his surroundings, ever ready for a situation to change suddenly. He has a strong jawline softened by a neatly trimmed beard.

A series of three small, intricate clock-like devices are embedded in his armor across his chest, each ticking softly but in perfect synchronization.

Varon Steelheart was born into an average family with a long tradition of military service. From a young age, he was groomed to follow in his ancestors' footsteps, learning the arts of combat and strategy. However, Varon's natural inclination towards protection rather than aggression set him apart from his peers. He excelled not in offensive tactics, but in defensive strategies and the art of anticipating threats. His childhood was spent studying battle formations, learning to read terrain for defensive advantages, and developing an almost supernatural ability to sense danger before it materialized.

His ability to foresee and prevent threats before they materialized earned him the moniker "The Vigilant Sentinel." It was during this time that Varon developed his fascination with time and clockwork, seeing in their precision and predictability a model for perfect vigilance. It was no surprise when his bloodline materialized and gave him the ability to manipulate time in a limited manner, an ability that struck fear in the hearts of his enemies.

Tragedy struck when Varon's family, his wife and two young children, fell victim to an attack he failed to anticipate; Verdant Hold was beset by Sahaugin while Varon and his troop were freeing a group of hunters that had accidentally stumbled upon an Owlbear Lair. This devastating loss shook Varon to his core, leading him to question his abilities and purpose. He left active military service, unable to reconcile his failure with his duty. He sought out the Sahaugin and eliminated them to a man, a feat for which the Heavens rewarded him. For a time, Varon wandered, taking odd jobs as a guard and slowly rebuilding his confidence through smaller successes in protecting merchants and travelers.

It was during this period of soul-searching that Varon developed his unique armor, embedded with three clockwork devices. Each tick became a reminder of the precious nature of time and the constant vigilance required to protect it. His reputation for unwavering attention to detail and comprehensive security strategies began to spread, eventually reaching the ears of Arties Geodegazer, who had just inherited a luxurious estate from a local noble. She needed skilled guards and, as it turned out, Varon had time. As a guard for the Geodegazer Estate, Varon found a new purpose. He approached his duty with a mixture of professional detachment and personal investment, seeing in the estate's children a chance to protect the innocence he once lost. That was years ago when there were only two guards; Aelindra and himself.

As a guard for the estate, he has faced down numerous enemies and challenges. In his time working for Arties, they have become close friends; each knowing they can trust the other with their lives. Now that the estate is the center of a growing, thriving magical city named "Goodberry", Varon is the Captain of the Guard. He oversees all the legal enforcements of laws and orders within city limits and carries a tremendous responsibility to protect the people that Arties has entrusted him with. Varon has even allowed himself to feel love again, entering a slow moving relationship with Aelindra, his second-in-command.

Varon's primary goal centers on creating an unbreachable shield of protection around Goodberry and all its inhabitants. This goes beyond simple law enforcement to encompass a comprehensive security system that can anticipate and neutralize threats before they can harm anyone under his care. He envisions a city where children can play safely in the streets, where families can sleep peacefully at night, and where the innocent are never again victims of violence they cannot defend against. This includes not only physical protection from external threats but also the maintenance of internal order, the prevention of crime, and the creation of systems that support rather than oppress the citizens.
