Queen Neleterdre Aloshawn
Basic Information
Bloodline Ability
Neleterdre does not charm people in the way that charm spells charm people. It is something older and more structural. When her full attention settles on a person, they become aware of themselves as a subject, not in the metaphorical sense, but in a way that presses on the back of the mind with a quiet and irresistible weight. Creatures of lesser will find themselves wanting to agree with her, wanting to please her, wanting to have been what she needed before she needed it. The effect is not magical in any detectable sense. It does not register on a detect magic scan. It is simply what happens when a queen of her particular construction looks at you and decides you are worth considering. Those she turns this ability against in earnest rarely remember the conversation as having gone poorly. They remember agreeing. They do not always remember what they agreed to.
Physical Description
Neleterdre is the kind of beautiful that functions less as an invitation and more as a statement of terms. She has the ageless quality common to elder wood elves whose bloodlines run deep, appearing no older than a human woman in her late thirties, which has been the case for nearly a century and shows no sign of changing. Her features are sharp and precise: high cheekbones, a jaw that carries authority without effort, eyes the color of deep forest amber that have the quality of always being slightly amused by something, though what, exactly, is rarely shared. Her hair is a rich dark auburn shot through with threads of gold that deepen in sunlight, worn in complex braided arrangements that her attendants spend an hour on each morning and which she never appears to notice. She is always in green. Shades of it, layers of it, from the near-black of deep forest shadow to the bright living green of new growth. This is not an accident. This is the color of Gelderai's authority, and she wears it the way other monarchs wear crowns: as a reminder that the thing she rules and the thing she is are not entirely separate.
There is a stillness to Neleterdre that people find deeply unsettling before they identify why, and the why, when they get to it, is this: she never fidgets. Most people, in silence, in discomfort, in uncertainty, reach for some small movement. She does not. She simply exists in a space and manages it completely, as though the room has always been hers and whatever is happening in it is proceeding according to a plan she authored. Her voice is low and carries an inherent musicality that her court has learned to interpret carefully, because the more pleasant it sounds, the more certain it is that she has already made a decision that cannot be argued with. She keeps no male advisors, takes no male counsel in private audience, and has not permitted a man to sit at the Council of Seasons table since she rose to the throne. What male staff exist in the Throne of Boughs do so in service roles and understand their standing without being told.

A man with an opinion is simply a man who has not yet been reminded of his function.
My daughter is exceptional. She was made to be exceptional. I am simply waiting for her to remember who made her.
The forest has stood for ten thousand years. It did not accomplish this by accommodating every creature that wandered in and thought it had something to say.
