Description: Red Draconians are imposing reptilian humanoids with crimson scales that seem to glow with inner fire. Standing between 6 and 7 feet tall, they possess heavily muscled builds designed for combat, and elongated snouts filled with razor-sharp teeth. Their eyes burn with molten gold fire, and their scales radiate heat when they are angry or excited. Red Draconians have pronounced claws, powerful tails, and crown-like horns that project aggressively from their skulls. Their scales range from deep blood red to bright scarlet, with orange and gold accents along their wing membranes and chest.

Society: Red Draconians are fierce warriors who form militant communities built around strength, honor, and combat prowess. They tend to have competitive families where children are encouraged to prove themselves through physical challenges and martial training. Their societies are organized around warrior codes and combat trials, with major celebrations marking victories in battle and coming-of-age ceremonies. Red Draconians value courage, strength, and martial skill above all else, viewing conflict as the ultimate test of worth. They excel at warfare, weapon mastery, and leading from the front, making them formidable commanders and elite soldiers.

Relations: Red Draconians are often viewed with a mixture of respect and wariness due to their aggressive nature and love of combat. They respect humans for their fighting spirit and ambition, appreciate dwarven weapon craftsmanship and warrior traditions, and admire orc directness in battle. However, their hot-tempered nature and tendency to solve problems through force can create conflicts with more peaceful races. They have particular difficulty with those who prefer negotiation or retreat over honorable combat. Other draconian colors sometimes view them as dangerously impulsive and violent, while Red Draconians see their cousins as weak and lacking in proper warrior spirit.

Other Traits

All Red Draconian characters also can choose 3 of the following abilities. If multiple abilities affect an attribute or skill, only the highest bonus is applicable.

  • Battle Fury: When below half health, gain +1 to attack and damage rolls for the rest of combat.
  • Draconic Heritage: Gain immunity to magical sleep effects and paralysis.
  • Fire Resistance: Gain fire resistance 5.
  • Fireborn: Gain a breathweapon that shoots in a 30-foot line. Does 3d6 fire damage, REF (10+CharacterLevel) save for half.
  • Heated Strike: Once per combat, add 1d4 fire damage to a successful melee attack.
  • Intimidating Presence: Gain a +2 racial bonus on Intimidate checks.
  • Low-Light Vision: Gain the ability to see twice as far as normal in dim light.
  • Natural Weapons: Gain a bite attack (1d4 damage) and two claw attacks (1d3 damage each). These are primary natural attacks.
  • Warrior's Instinct: Gain a +2 racial bonus on Initiative checks and cannot be caught flat-footed in the first round of combat.
  • Vestigial Wings: Gain a pair of undersized, leathery wings. These wings cannot provide actual flight but offer a controlled glide when falling.
