Teelie Greenfoss, The Wandering Fae

Appearance

Teelie Greenfoss is four feet tall and carries herself with the easy confidence of someone who has never once found her height to be a problem. Her auburn hair is swept up in an elaborate updo threaded with gold accents, and her teal-blue eyes have the particular depth and stillness that fae eyes tend to carry, pretty enough that most people don't notice right away that they never quite blink at the expected intervals. She wears a gold headpiece across her brow, set with an amber stone, and her ears come to the soft points common to fae of her kind. Her clothing is always deliberate: ornate lace and brocade in earthy golds and rich browns, finished with delicate gold-worked earrings and a small nose ring. She dresses as though the occasion is worth dressing for, every single time, and she has strong opinions about what that means.

The Wings

Her wings are vibrantly colored, layered iridescent panels that shift between warm amber, rose, and green depending on the angle of light, and they are, without question, the most remarkable thing about her physically. She does not use them if she can help it. She walks. She takes the stairs. She has been seen deliberately choosing the long way around rather than simply flying over an obstacle that would take her four seconds to cross. Background & History

The Land of the Fey

Ask Teelie where she is from and she will answer, cheerfully and without hesitation: "The Land of the Fey." She says it the same way every time, with the same warm smile, as though it is a perfectly complete answer. It is not. There are, by most counts, somewhere between three and five distinct fae realms that could technically be called "the Land of the Fey" depending on who is doing the counting and what criteria they are using. Teelie is aware of this. If pressed, she will acknowledge that yes, there are several such lands, and then she will agree that her answer was a bit vague, and then she will give exactly the same answer again with a slightly more apologetic smile. She is not confused. She is not evasive in the way of someone with something to hide. She is simply fae, and fae are under no particular obligation to make it easy.

Something Called to Her

Teelie arrived in Silmarithil less than a week ago. She has been here fewer days than most people spend deciding which inn to stay at, and she has already decided she is staying permanently. When asked why, why this city, why now, why leave wherever she was before, she says that something about the place called to her. She says it without drama, as a simple statement of fact, in the same tone she might use to explain why she chose a particular fabric. She does not find the answer insufficient. She followed a feeling across a planar boundary into a city she had never visited before and is now setting down roots there, and she regards this as entirely reasonable behavior. Whether the feeling was instinct, intention, compulsion, or something that does not have a name yet is a question she does not appear to have asked herself. She arrived. She is staying. That is the whole of it, as far as she is concerned.

The Craft She Carries

Whatever else Teelie Greenfoss is, she is a shaman, and the healing she practices is genuine. She works through connection rather than formula, a laying of hands, a reading of spirit, a gentle reshaping of what has gone wrong in a body or a soul. Her methods are quiet and her results are not. She does not talk much about her training or where she learned, but the knowledge itself is clearly deep and long-practiced. In Silmarithil she has already offered her skills freely to two people she met by chance in her first days in the city, and by all accounts the work was sound. She is not using her healing as a reason to stay. She is simply healing because healing is what she does, and she happens to be staying.

Putting Down Roots

Teelie has decided she lives in Silmarithil now. She is approaching this with the same cheerful certainty she applies to everything else. She wants to find a proper place to stay, get to know the people who already live here, and eventually establish herself as the kind of healer the city can rely on. She does not seem to be in a hurry, exactly, but she is also not idle. She has a way of moving through the world that makes everything look unhurried while somehow getting quite a lot done.

Whatever Called Her Here

Teelie followed a feeling to Silmarithil and has not yet named what that feeling was. Whether she intends to investigate it, wait for it to become clearer, or simply let it unfold on its own schedule is not something she has mentioned. She does not seem troubled by it. But she is fae, and the fae do not generally cross planar boundaries on a whim and then forget why they did. Something brought her here. At some point, what that something is will likely become relevant to more people than just her.

She has already been to three tailors. She is very happy with two of them. The third used a lining fabric she considers unacceptable and she is willing to discuss this at length.
