Physical Description

Morrigan Velvet
Morrigan Velvet, The Violet Fox
Appearance

Morrigan is a striking Kitsune woman whose presence commands attention without demanding it. Her long, dark hair cascades past her shoulders in loose waves, threaded with deep violet undertones that catch the light like ink in water. Her fox ears rise from her crown, dark-furred and tipped in vivid purple, and her large, bushy tail trails behind her in matching black and amethyst tones. Her complexion is fair and flawless, her dark eyes sharp and warm in equal measure, carrying the quiet certainty of someone who knows exactly what she is looking at and what it could become. She moves through any room with an effortless poise that makes the space feel like it was arranged around her rather than the other way around.

Unique Characteristics

Morrigan's arms and shoulders are decorated with elaborate tattoo work, intricate floral and thorned patterns inked in dark tones that wind across her skin like living filigree. These are not merely decorative but serve as a walking portfolio of the body art Veyne & Velvet offers its clientele, each piece designed by Morrigan herself. She favours deep purples and blacks in her wardrobe, accented with ornate gold chainwork at the waist and layered jewelry at her throat and ears. She carries a small, elaborately tooled case at her side at nearly all times, containing design sketches, fabric swatches, and a set of fine measuring instruments. Her tail has a habit of curling slightly upward when she is pleased with something, a tell she has never bothered to suppress.

Background & History

The Other Kit
Morrigan grew up a few streets away from her cousin Lilith, close enough that the two were practically raised as sisters. Where Lilith was the quiet one hunched over sketch pads, Morrigan was the loud one convincing neighbourhood children to trade their sweets for hastily assembled flower crowns she had made and declared priceless. She had a gift for persuasion from an early age, an instinct for understanding what people wanted to hear and a complete willingness to say it. Her family saw a future merchant in the making. Morrigan saw something more interesting: the ability to make people feel things, to shift the mood of a room with nothing more than the right words and the right smile.

Learning the Stage
While Lilith apprenticed under tattoo artists and seamstresses, Morrigan apprenticed under everybody. She spent time with jewellers learning how gemstones were valued, shadowed trade guild negotiators to study how deals were structured, and talked her way into the social circles of minor nobles to learn how reputation was built and maintained among the wealthy. She treated every interaction as a performance and every performance as practice, developing an understanding of social dynamics that went far beyond simple charm. By the time she was seventeen she could walk into a room full of strangers and leave an hour later having memorised every name, identified every alliance, and planted the seeds of at least three future conversations that would benefit her.

The Pact
The idea for Veyne & Velvet was born over a bottle of wine on a rooftop, the night Lilith told Morrigan she wanted to build something real and Morrigan told Lilith she already knew exactly how to sell it. The partnership was natural: Lilith had the artistic vision and the uncompromising standards, Morrigan had the social instincts and the nerve to put them in front of people who could afford to pay for them. They pooled their savings, split the ownership evenly, and named the house after themselves, Veyne for Lilith's precision and Velvet for Morrigan's touch. Morrigan handled the client intake, the networking, the procurement of rare materials, and the delicate art of managing wealthy egos, while Lilith focused on the work itself. It was an arrangement that played to both their strengths and papered over both their weaknesses.

The Voice of the House
Since Veyne & Velvet opened its doors, Morrigan has become the public face of the business. She attends every social event worth attending, cultivates relationships with suppliers and patrons alike, and has developed a reputation for being impossible to lie to and extremely enjoyable to be honest with. Clients who arrive at Veyne & Velvet for the first time are almost always greeted by Morrigan, who conducts the initial consultation with a warmth and perceptiveness that makes people reveal far more about themselves than they intended. By the time Lilith sits down to begin the actual design work, Morrigan has already assembled a portrait of the client that goes well beyond their measurements, a picture of who they are, who they want to be, and what will make them feel powerful when they look in the mirror.

Goals & Aspirations

Making Veyne & Velvet Unmissable
Lilith wants the house to be the most respected name in luxury fashion. Morrigan wants it to be the most exciting. She is constantly scheming new ways to generate conversation, attract attention, and position the brand in places and circles where it has not yet been seen. She wants Veyne & Velvet to be the name that comes up at every dinner party, the commission house that people brag about being able to afford. Morrigan does not see this as shallow. Reputation is the most valuable currency in luxury trade, and she intends to make theirs worth more than gold.

Keeping the Balance
Morrigan is acutely aware that her greatest strength is also her greatest risk. The playfulness, the provocation, the willingness to push boundaries, these are the qualities that make her effective, but they are also the qualities that could damage the house if she misjudges a situation. She walks a line between being daring and being reckless, and she knows it. Her quiet goal is to keep walking it well, to be bold without being destructive, and to protect what she and Lilith have built without losing the spark that made it special in the first place.

Protecting What Matters
Beneath the charm and the performance, Morrigan's most fundamental drive is the same one it has always been: making sure the people she loves are safe, successful, and happy. Lilith is the most important person in her life, the one she would burn everything else down to protect, and the partnership they share is the thing she is most proud of. Morrigan does not talk about this often because she does not need to. Anyone who has watched the two of them work together for more than five minutes already knows.

ATTENTION!
Morrigan Velvet is not dangerous in the way that a sword or a spell is dangerous. She is dangerous in the way that a conversation you did not expect to have is dangerous. She remembers names, favours, debts, and indiscretions with perfect clarity, and she wields that information not as a weapon but as a tool, applied with precision and always with a smile. Those who mistake her playfulness for frivolity tend to discover, after the fact, that every joke had a purpose and every compliment was also an assessment. Threatening Veyne & Velvet or her cousin Lilith in Morrigan's presence is inadvisable; threatening either when she is not present is worse, because she will hear about it, and her response will arrive from a direction you were not watching.
