Marcelline Whitestitch
Basic Information
Bloodline Ability
This Bloodline ability has not yet been unveiled to you.
Physical Description
Marcelline stands a neat five feet, soft grey-furred and sharp-whiskered with large, expressive ears she tucks small blossoms behind out of pure habit rather than vanity. Her dark eyes are warm and quick, better suited to reading a room full of restless children than the treeline Lishotha grew up watching, and she carries herself with the unhurried, upright posture of someone who was taught from birth that good sewing and good manners both come down to not rushing the stitch. She dresses neatly and a little old-fashioned, high collars and careful lace, clothes she altered herself and will happily tell you exactly how.
Marcelline cannot leave a loose thread, a torn hem, or a wobbling chair leg alone, and she carries a small mending kit everywhere out of the same reflex that makes her stop mid-conversation to fix somebody's collar without asking first. Her hands are almost never still, and when she's nervous she'll mend something that doesn't actually need it rather than sit with empty fingers. She has an unusual gift for making children behave simply by expecting them to, in the calm, unbothered way of someone who has never once had to raise her voice to be listened to.
Personality & Temperament
- Endlessly patient with restless, loud children
- Warm and direct in a way people trust immediately
- Notices exactly which child needs which kind of help
- Mends anything, fabric, mood, or otherwise
- Genuinely delighted by other people's small victories
- Convinced real teachers had proper schooling, unlike her
- Fidgets and mends things that don't need mending
- Undersells her own skill next to fancier credentials
- Worries out loud, at length, to whoever's nearby
- Overprotective of Lishotha to a slightly smothering degree
I never sat in a proper schoolroom in my life. I'm hoping nobody asks me to prove that isn't a problem.
Give me twenty minutes with any child and I'll have them reading, or at least sitting still, whichever comes first.
Lishotha thinks nobody's noticed her yet. I've been mending that girl's cloak for nineteen years. Someone's always noticed her.
