Maevra Thorne
Basic Information
Bloodline Ability
This Bloodline ability has not yet been unveiled to you.
Physical Description
Maevra Thorne is twenty-six years old, with deep warm brown skin, a scatter of dark freckles across her nose and cheeks, and vivid purple-violet hair that she wears long and loose, the color is natural to Vishkanya, a consequence of the same biology that produces their scales, and she has never thought to change it. Her eyes are a deep amber-gold with the elongated pupils characteristic of her race, and they track movement with a quality of attention that reads as evaluating without being unkind. She has a nose piercing, a small stud, and favors turquoise-set jewelry in bronze and silver that she has accumulated over years from markets and trades.
The most immediately visible Vishkanya feature, beyond her eyes, is the iridescent scale patches that appear across her cheekbones and temple: small, close-set, jewel-bright in blue-green that shifts with the light. They follow the bone structure naturally, like something decorative and intentional, though they are neither, they are simply what Vishkanya skin does. She is accustomed to people noticing them, and accustomed to the range of reactions that follow. In Goodberry, most people follow the look with nothing more complicated than curiosity, which she still finds quietly remarkable after living elsewhere.
She wears layered, practical traveling clothes that show their history, patchwork sections in faded colors, worn leather at the cuffs, embroidered trim that has been repaired in places with different thread because she was not going to stop wearing the piece just because of a fraying hem. Her apron, worn in the lab, is a different matter: heavy canvas, well-maintained, bearing the organized stain record of someone who works carefully and still works with things that stain. She forages regularly for raw ingredients and dresses accordingly, comfortable, nothing she would be upset about ruining in a bog.

- Underestimates how alarming her venom jokes can sound
Yes, my tears are technically toxic. I find this more useful than upsetting. The standard antidote for Vishkanya venom is something I can make in about forty minutes, so the risk is genuinely very manageable. You do not need to look at me like that.
The best poison expert and the best healer are usually the same person, because the knowledge is the same knowledge. The application is just a matter of intent. I have excellent intent.
Labeled correctly, in my own hand, on every single vial. I would rather be thought excessive than responsible for someone's very bad afternoon.
- The moment a compound performs exactly as designed

- Strong tea, always; she makes her own blend
- The face people make on learning about her venom

- Poorly labeled ingredients, a real professional grievance
- Cities that treated her as a liability on sight
- Interruptions during synthesis, the window matters
- Being thanked for "being careful" like it's optional
Background & History
Goals & Aspirations
Current Status
Venom is present in her blood, saliva, and tears. Casual physical contact is generally fine. Do not share food or drink with her without discussing it first. Do not handle her personal alchemical kit, her vials, or her extracts without permission, not because they are all dangerous, but because you do not know which ones are. She will tell you if you ask. She is thorough about labeling and expects others to respect the system.
She keeps a fully effective antidote on her person at all times. If there is an incident, which she considers very unlikely given her precautions, she is the best-positioned person in the room to handle it. She is not fragile about this conversation. She has had it many times and finds straightforward acknowledgment significantly less exhausting than careful avoidance.
