Physical Description
Kadra stands a full seven feet tall and is built like the mountains she came from: broad through the shoulders, thick through the arms and legs, and muscled to a degree that makes most warriors quietly reconsider their training. Her skin is a pale, stony grey, her eyes are a bright wolfish gold, and her long auburn hair is pulled up into a high tail with thin braids woven through it. Bold red-brown markings run across nearly every inch of her: spirals, bands, and angular glyphs that climb her legs, circle her arms, cross her face, and sweep in one enormous pattern across her torso. She wears a pale fur mantle over bronze pauldrons, a bronze breastplate and belt worked in spirals, bronze bracers and sandal-greaves, and long panels of rust-orange cloth that fall to the floor. Two heavy swords ride crossed on her back, their pommels capped with clear crystal. She usually wears a smirk to match.
Every marking on Kadra's body represents an oath she completed. Not battles won. Not enemies killed. Promises kept. One marks the winter she carried medicine across the mountains through a blizzard. Another marks the twenty-three villagers she dug out and carried to safety when an avalanche destroyed part of her clan's settlement. The enormous pattern across her torso marks the oath that changed her life, and it reads, in the old tongue of her clan, "None behind me." She refuses to explain that one casually. Kadra fights with two heavy swords, but not the way a fencer would: they are tools. Sometimes she uses both, sometimes she plants one in the ground and fights with the other, sometimes she throws one, and sometimes she abandons both and simply grabs somebody.
