Description
The Shark Swarm Summons manifests as a circular altar carved from deep black coral, its surface inlaid with hundreds of shark teeth from various species that once terrorized these waters. The altar stands waist-high on a platform of volcanic stone, surrounded by channels that direct seawater across its surface during high tide.
To activate the summons, the shark caller must offer their own blood to the altar while chanting ancient Polynesian incantations that echo across the waves. The blood mingles with the seawater, turning it crimson as it flows through the coral channels, awakening the primal spirits that dwell in the ocean's depths.
Within moments of the ritual's completion, dorsal fins begin cutting through the water around the settlement as sharks emerge from the depths in a coordinated hunting formation. These summoned predators possess an uncanny intelligence, able to distinguish between friend and foe, attacking only those who threaten the settlement while ignoring residents and allies completely.
The settlement's designated shark caller, typically a warrior-priest trained in the old ways, maintains telepathic contact with the summoned pack throughout their manifestation. Through gestures and mental commands, they can direct the sharks to patrol specific areas, guard particular vessels, or converge on designated targets with lethal precision.
