As the tropical sun evaporates the seawater, the remaining salt crystals absorb the blessed energy from the ritual carvings, transforming from ordinary sea salt into gleaming white crystals that pulse with purifying power. The process takes exactly one lunar cycle to complete, with each full moon marking a new harvest.
A dedicated salt priest, trained in ancient Vaitafe traditions, tends the pools with daily prayers and offerings to the sea spirits, ensuring the salt maintains its sacred properties. This keeper performs the blessing rituals at dawn and dusk, speaking the old words that bind purification magic into each crystal.
The blessed salt can be rubbed directly onto afflicted skin to break curses or dissolved in fresh water to create a cleansing bath that removes negative spiritual conditions.
