Treehouse Dwellings

Treehouse Dwellings

Prerequisite: Duke's Hollow Tree
An upgrade for the dimensional expansion.

Description

The Treehouse Dwellings of the Elderwood Grove rise high within the forest canopy, creating a network of elevated homes that coexist with the ancient trees. Shaped through Goodberry’s dimensional magic, each home is built to fit its host tree, using natural curves and branches rather than altering them. The result is a serene neighborhood suspended twenty to forty feet above the ground, where platforms and walkways weave between trunks, forming a hidden world of light, wood, and leaves. Every treehouse feels alive, as if it grew alongside the forest itself.

No two dwellings are alike. Some are circular homes built around a single massive trunk, while others stretch between several trees, their platforms forming multi-room sanctuaries. Each uses flexible ironwood brackets that move with the tree’s growth, keeping the structures secure without harming the living wood. The walls and floors are made from reclaimed fallen timber, smoothed and sealed to preserve their grain, while the roofs are covered in moss, vines, or wooden shingles that blend perfectly with the canopy above.

Inside, the homes are warm and compact, designed for both comfort and practicality. Living spaces combine cooking, seating, and storage in one open area, with built-in shelves and foldable furniture maximizing every inch. Sleeping nooks and curtained alcoves offer privacy, often featuring small windows that open to breathtaking views of the sunrise or night sky. Natural light fills the rooms during the day, and soft lanterns or glow-crystals illuminate them by night, making each dwelling feel peaceful and alive.

Balconies and bridges connect the treehouses, creating an aerial village among the branches. Residents move between homes along sturdy walkways or rope bridges that sway gently with the wind. These paths are fitted with railings and lanterns for safety, forming a graceful network that allows families to visit each other, share meals, or watch their children play far above the forest floor. From these vantage points, the world below appears serene and distant, the sounds of the forest blending into a calming rhythm of rustling leaves and birdsong.

Life in the Treehouse Dwellings is simple, balanced, and deeply tied to the forest. The trees are tended with care, treated as both shelter and companions. The dwellers live with the rhythm of the canopy, feeling every breeze, storm, and season as part of their daily lives. Flowers bloom in window boxes, wind chimes sing softly between homes, and lanterns turn the treetops into a sea of golden lights at night. For those who dwell here, these homes represent more than safety, they are a shared expression of harmony between people and the living forest that sustains them.
